As the property rental market grows so does the risk of letting to a tenant that has misled about their identity or credit history. Now there are online services, such as Credit Check Services in the UK, which provide landlords with a low cost way for tenant screening. The information that is gleaned from checking tenants is often very enlightening, sometimes there is a history of county court judgements, other times the tenant may have been using other alias names, or there may be absolutely no trace data on an individual because the person has never existed. The bottom line is that a small amount of effort in conducting tenant checks could save the landlord a lot of hassle in the future.
